Companies Renew Agreement to Extend Availability of ScriptSync Feature and Develop Additional Enhancements to Avid’s Product Lineup
LAS VEGAS, NV – April 12, 2010 – At the 2010 National Association of Broadcasters show, Nexidia, the market-leading provider of rich media search and speech analytics solutions, and Avid®, the leading provider of digital content creation and management tools, today announced that the two companies have renewed their strategic partnership that integrates Nexidia’s solutions into the Avid product portfolio. This builds on the successful relationship the two companies first announced at NAB in 2006.
Nexidia and Avid first collaborated to launch the ScriptSync® feature, which simplifies script-based editing by automating the process of synchronizing scripts or transcripts with their equivalent media files. This feature has enabled editors, directors and producers to save significant time by streamlining review and comparison of clips and takes for the final edit. Over the past three years, this feature has garnered significant industry praise and has won numerous awards for innovation, including the 2007 TV Technology STAR award and a place in the Digital Cinema Top Products of NAB 2007 list.
As a result of the renewed relationship announced today, the ScriptSync feature will continue to be prominent in Avid’s lineup of video editing products such as Avid Media Composer® and Symphony™ solutions. But this announcement also marks a major commitment on the part of both companies to further integrate Nexidia’s patented phonetic search technology more deeply into the Avid product suite. This will provide enhanced workflow solutions that will make it even easier to locate and use the appropriate media for any project.
“Our customers acknowledge ScriptSync as one of the most significant innovations to editing they have seen in a long time,” said Paul Foeckler, Vice President, Creative Professionals at Avid Technology “Nexidia’s ability to tightly synchronize text and media was a perfect match for our script-based editing tools, which introduced an entirely new and streamlined method for selecting digital content. We’re excited to work with Nexidia to push the boundaries even further and develop new solutions to integrate rich media search into Avid’s product portfolio.”
“The ScriptSync feature has been a great example of Nexidia’s commitment to providing rich media search solutions that have a positive impact in the marketplace,” said Drew Lanham, SVP/GM of Media for Nexidia. “We are extremely pleased by how well it’s been received by Avid’s customers, and we look forward to working with Avid to launch additional features that take advantage of the full breadth of Nexidia’s rich media search technology.”
