H.I.G. Growth’s Ross Hiatt Named Top Software Investor
SAN FRANCISCO – October 30, 2023 – Ross Hiatt, Managing Director and Head of H.I.G. Growth Partners (“H.I.G.”), the growth investing arm of H.I.G. Capital, was named to GrowthCap’s list of Top Software Investors of 2023, a notable recognition that highlights his impressive investing track record in the software industry and underscores the level of talent and expertise that differentiates H.I.G.
Hiatt has over two decades of investing and finance experience and has built a distinguished portfolio with investments across consumer internet, fintech, SaaS, and enterprise technology. According to GrowthCap’s announcement, being named to this esteemed list is a result of Ross’ “extensive knowledge and experience in operations, digital technology, and overall business expertise,” and works to, “empower portfolio companies to make transformative change.”

Prior to joining H.I.G., Hiatt was a senior member of the technology investment team at TPG Capital and was responsible for all aspects of investment sourcing, execution, and oversight. Before TPG, he spent ten years at Goldman Sachs where he worked with some of the world’s leading technology companies. He began his career in the high yield and leveraged finance group at J.P. Morgan after earning a B.B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin and an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University, both with honors. According to GrowthCap, the candidate pool for Top Software Investors of 2023 was, “more robust than we have ever seen.” They noted that many investors began entering the software industry when it became the sector of choice in growth, investing many years ago.
