Triad Retail Media and the Car Care Council Bring New "Car Care Center" to eBay Motors
For national Car Care Month, digital content center provides actionable tips and advice for drivers and contextual advertising opportunities for brands
TAMPA, FL - March 26, 2012 - In celebration of April’s National Car Care Month, eBay Motors has launched a new rich media content center in partnership with the Car Care Council and Triad Retail Media. The Car Care Center on eBayMotors.com features DIY videos and advice for consumers looking for proactive ways to care for their vehicles this spring. The center also provides new advertising opportunities for brands that want to keep their products and services top of mind with the “do it yourself” and “do it for me” crowds.
“The Car Care Council is extremely pleased that eBay Motors recognizes the council as the credible source of information on vehicle maintenance and repair”
Research has shown that when consumers are reminded about car care, they take proactive steps to care for their vehicles, resulting in more reliable driving. eBay Motors reaches a broad audience of auto enthusiasts. Its new Car Care Center offers video tips from the Car Care Council on topics ranging from “Essential Items to Keep in Your Car” to “How to Choose the Right Tires for Your Vehicle.” In addition, visitors benefit from money-saving tips and articles about car safety that run the gamut from reducing vehicle maintenance costs to how to tow a boat or RV the smart and safe way.
“By featuring relevant content from the Car Care Council, we are positioning eBay Motors not only as the online automotive marketplace, but also as a source of information about the benefits of regular vehicle care, maintenance and repair, and general safety,” said Mitch Gross, senior manager, eBay Motors Display Advertising. “By integrating contextual advertising into the center, we’re delivering a highly engaged audience to major automotive brands.”
“The Car Care Council is extremely pleased that eBay Motors recognizes the council as the credible source of information on vehicle maintenance and repair,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council. “This partnership will position our messages on behalf of the automotive aftermarket in front of eBay Motors’ extensive audience, and will be a giant boost to not just National Car Care Month, but to the Be Car Care Aware consumer education campaign throughout the year. All of the content posted on eBayMotors.com will be attributed to the council and provide links back to our newly redesigned website.”
These brands join a growing roster of top-tier advertisers that work with Triad Retail Media to advertise on eBay Motors’ site, including Ford, Lexus, Nissan, Porsche, Toyota, GEICO, Edelbrock, Armor All and Progressive.
Eric Meth, vice president of the eBay Motors account at Triad Retail Media said, “It’s been widely reported that Americans are hanging on to their cars for a longer period of time. Yet, there are so few places on the Web where car owners can go to educate themselves on how to properly care for, maintain and service their vehicle. With this new content center, we’ve not only created an easy and highly useful way for consumers to access important and relevant information - but also a highly targeted means for advertisers to reach these consumers at the right time in the purchase decision-making process.”
Greg Murtagh, CEO of Triad Retail Media, said, “Integrating valuable content with commerce has proven to create meaningful and engaging experiences for consumers, which is far more powerful than siloed editorial sidebars or banner ads. These types of content centers enable brand advertisers to reach consumers while they are in a very distinct mindset - in this case, while consumers are concerned about vehicle maintenance and automotive safety.”
